T200 High Speed Friction Saw 2 Pack

Details

The T200 High Speed Friction Saw has been developed by the 4TAC5 Mobile Training Team, SERE and CAC Instructors.

Different cords have been used but the design has remained unchanged since 2014.

The overall length, size of the foot-loops and the addition of a plastic feeder allow for this tool to be quickly deployed and used immediately to defeat non-metallic restraints should you be restrained to the front or rear.

Sold in pairs so you have one for training and one for your escape kit (the one used for training can be carried and concealed as a back-up).

Loading the friction saw...
  • We recommend that one is loaded in your Go-Tube IWB Strap/Optimised Go-Tube Fast Track IWB Loadout 'Plan B'
  • To install you must carefully fold the friction saw so it will fit inside the Go-Tube with the cable-tie on the outside
  • The 'back-up' friction saw should be carried and concealed in a different location that would allow for access when retrained to the rear
Deploying the friction saw...
  • To deploy you pull on the cable-tie. This will remove the round end cap and allow for the friction saw to slide out
  • Hold onto the cable-tie and shake/flick the friction saw away from you. If loaded and deployed correctly it will not snag!
Using the friction saw (rear restraint/kneeling position) ...
  • First insert the cable-tie between your wrists and the restraint. Feed through the restraint and grab the end of the cable-tie on the other side
  • Pull the cable-tie to feed the friction saw through the restraint until one the foot-loops can reach the floor
  • Now pass the foot-loop over your heel. Lift your foot off the floor and move friction saw onto your shin. Take up the tension and repeat for the other side
  • With the tension taken up on both shins with the friction saw roll over onto your side
  • Slowly let out the friction saw by extending your legs and when there is tension on your restraint move your legs up and down to work the friction saw...
Using the friction saw (front restraint/seated position) ...
  • First insert the cable-tie between your wrists and the restraint. Feed through the restraint and grab the end of the cable-tie on the other side
  • Pull the cable-tie to feed the friction saw through the restraint until one the foot-loops can reach your toes
  • Make a double loop with the foot-loop to reduce the length secure it around your foot. Repeat for the other foot-loop
  • With both foot-loops secure around your feet move your feet in a pedalling motion to work the friction saw...
  • Both methods work for non-metallic restraints and they should also be practiced whilst on your side
  • Natural rope such as hemp or sisal could be impregnated with oil so it will be necessary to add some
  • Knots to the middle of the friction saw to 'bite' through the natural rope
