Asa police response officer I have tried many "side zip" brands of boot and I can honestly say that this boot is the best. They are very comfortable and hard wearing. I am on my second pair, the first pair I passed onto my son after a year of wear and he is still using them for Sea Cadets! With some of the other boots I have tried in my career the side zip has failed or the sole has split before anty reasonable wear. The only downside is that they are not the best in very wet weather however this has been improved by use of spray waterproofing the nylon parts of the uppers. They bull up quite nicely too! Great price too. About to purchase my third pair for the next 12 months.
